Renowned Indian hotelier chef imtiaz Quraishi has passed away today, delivering a significant blow to the hospitality industry. Members of the hotel industry have expressed their grief over his demise.  (2 February 1931 – 16 February 2024) was a distinguished Indian chef and the master chef at ITC Hotels, renowned for creating the culinary brand of Bukhara and revitalizing the Dum Pukht tradition of cuisine. He catered official banquets for the Prime Minister and President of India. Awarded the Padma Shri in 2016, he was the first chef to receive this honor. Born into a family of chefs in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, Qureshi began his culinary journey with his uncle, later joining Krishna Caterers during the Sino-Indian War of 1962. After working at local restaurants, he joined ITC Hotels in 1979, serving at various locations before becoming the master chef. His legacy lives on through his five sons and two daughters, all actively involved in the culinary business with restaurants in India and abroad.
